IO Topic

Use the I/O topic to configure the settings for I/O, fan operation, and second-order digital filters on the analog inputs. You can also specify user-defined offsets for analog inputs and delays for I/O and PSO-related functions. This topic and its modules are in the Axes category of the Configure workspace in Automation1 Studio.

I/O Module

The I/O module lets you configure options related to I/O and fan operation. They include Software ESTOP Filtering, Fan Control, and more.

For more information, see I/O Functions and the IOSetup Parameter.

Analog Inputs Module

The Analog Inputs module lets you specify a user-defined offset that is applied to the analog input. Aerotech does offset calibration of all analog inputs at the factory. In most production environments, you can keep these parameters set to the default value of 0.

For more information, see Input Offset. Also see the parameters that follow:

Outputs Module

The Outputs module lets you delay I/O and PSO-related functions to compensate for delays caused by motion filters. You can also set the enabled state of the external amplifier.

For more information, see Drive Command Delay. Also see the parameters that follow:

Analog Input Filters Module

Tip: In the Analog Input Filters section of I/O in Automation1 Studio, click View Coefficients to see the analog input filter coefficient parameters and their setup parameter. To see only the summary of filter specifications, click View Filters.

The Analog Input Filters module lets you configure the settings related to the second-order digital filters on the analog inputs. All Automation1 drives support two second-order digital filters on the analog inputs.

For more information, see Filters. Also see the parameters that follow:
