HomeSpeed Parameter

Default Value: 20.0

Minimum Value: 0.0

Maximum Value: None

Units: velocity

Type: double

Use the HomeSpeed parameter to set the speed of the axis during the home cycle. This parameter is typically set to a low value to allow for controlled conditions during system startup. This value is also used when the axis is moved out of a limit condition during a Fault Acknowledge or by using the MoveOutOfLimit() function.

When you reference this parameter in an AeroScript program, the parameter value is in the units specified by the unit mode of the task. If the task is in primary units mode, this parameter is in primary units. If the task is in secondary units mode, this parameter is in secondary units.

If the axis is configured as a gantry under Decoupling Control, then this parameter also specifies the maximum speed of the R and Theta axes during gantry alignment moves.

HARDWARE: If you configure the GL4 to use a galvo scanner that has current-based end-of-travel limits and not end-of-travel limit switches, the controller puts a limit on the homing speed of the axis to a maximum of 8 degrees per second. The homing speed is automatically decreased to prevent damage to the mirrors. To find if your system uses current-based limits, see the Current-Based Limits setting of the EndOfTravelLimitSetup Parameter.
