HyperWire Communication
The fiber-optic, light-based HyperWire motion control bus from Aerotech is a fast, high-throughput communication bus for motion control.
Drive-Based Controller
Drive-based controllers (such as an iXC4) have one SFP port. The glass optical fiber HyperWire cables supply high-speed communication from the drive-based controller to other Automation1 drive hardware through secure and reliable connections. You can connect a maximum of 12 axes of precision motor drives on the HyperWire motion control bus.
PC-Based Controller
To use a PC-based controller, your PC must have a HyperWire PCIe card installed to connect to Automation1 drives. The HyperWire PCIe card is easy to install and adds two SFP ports. The glass optical fiber HyperWire cables supply high-speed communication from the HyperWire card to Automation1 drive hardware through secure and reliable connections. You can connect a maximum of 16 axes on each port, which gives you 32 axes of precision motor drives on the HyperWire motion control bus.
The procedures that follow help you install and configure your HyperWire card for Automation1.
