Configure the HyperWire Card
For your Automation1 controller system to operate correctly, the HyperWire card must be under the control of the INtime real-time operating system. Use the procedure that follows to configure the card.
IMPORTANT: A HyperWire PCI Express card is necessary only if you are using a PC-based controller. Drive-based controllers, such as the iXC4, already have a HyperWire port that can be used to connect other drives.
- Open INtime Device Manager (Start → All Programs → INtime → INtime Configuration. Then double-click INtime Device Manager).
- In the Windows devices tree, find the HyperWire card that you want to use. Right-click the HyperWire card and select Pass to INtime using MSI. Now the HyperWire card is under INtime control. If you cannot find the card, refer to Install the HyperWire Card.
- Save the configuration by clicking File → Save the configuration.
- If you get a message that you must restart your computer, restart and continue to the next step.
- Open Automation1 Studio and use Machine Setup to complete your card configuration for Automation1. Refer to Machine Setup for more information.
If you do not get a message to restart, close all applications and continue to the next step.
Next Step: Verify the HyperWire Card
