BusOvervoltageThreshold Parameter
Default Value: 0
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: None
Units: volts
Type: float
HARDWARE: This parameter applies only to FLEX, iHXA4, HXA4, iXC2, XC2, iXC2e, XC2e, iXC4, XC4, iXC4e, XC4e, iXC6e, XC6e, iXR3 with -XSP3 amplifier, and XR3 with -XSP3 amplifier. This parameter does not apply when used with linear, piezo, or interface drives.
The BusOvervoltageThreshold parameter limits the bus voltage of a drive when set. If the bus voltage is more than the value specified by the BusOvervoltageThreshold parameter, an AmplifierFault is triggered. When the BusOvervoltageThreshold parameter is set to 0, the parameter is disabled.
The hardware also examines the bus voltage. If the bus voltage gets to a dangerous level, the hardware will trigger an AmplifierFault. The BusOvervoltageThreshold parameter has no effect on this hardware signal, and the two trigger the AmplifierFault independently from each other. The Bus Overvoltage bit of the Amplifier Status item tracks the state of the hardware bus overvoltage signal.
This parameter is set to a safe value in Machine Setup for applicable drives. The values include:
- iHXA4, HXA4, iXC2, XC2, iXC2e, and XC2e: 100 V
- FLEX, iXC4, XC4, iXC4e, and XC4e: 400 V
- iXC6e and XC6e
- (-240V): 400 V
- (-480V): 900 V
- iXR3 and XR3 (with -XSP3 amplifier)
- VB1 - VB5 and VB7: 200 V
- VB6 and VB8: 400 V
