HARDWARE: This parameter does not apply when used with the GI4, the GL4 or the XL4s.

The BrakeSetup parameter configures a brake output that is automatically controlled when you enable and disable the axis. You can disable this parameter to manually control the brake output. Select one of the values that follow:

  • If you select Disabled, which is a value of 0, you must manually control the brake. Refer to Manual Brake Control for more information.
  • If you select Enabled, which is a value of 1, the controller automatically disengages the brake when you enable the axis. It engages the brake when you disable the axis.

To specify the type of output that controls the brake, use the BrakeOutput Parameter. You can also configure the timing of the brake with respect to the enabling or disabling of the servo loop by using the BrakeEnableDelay Parameter and BrakeDisableDelay Parameter.
