Lead and Lag Filters

A lead filter increases the open-loop phase by the quantity specified by the Phase parameter at a frequency specified by the Phase Frequency parameter. You can make a lag filter by entering a positive or a negative value for the Phase. The Phase Frequency must always have a positive value. A lead or lag filter can cause a large change in the open-loop magnitude response.

When you do servo tuning, it is not typical to use a lead or lag filter.
