Signal Log Overview
Signal Log is a monitoring and diagnostic tool. When enabled, Signal Log continuously collects diagnostic data and monitors the data for Signal Log trigger events. When a Signal Log trigger event occurs, Signal Log automatically saves the diagnostic data to a file on the controller file system. The file is saved in a format that Automation1 Studio can read.
Signal Log is enabled by default and runs as a background process during machine operation. Signal Log can be triggered by an axis fault or by the SignalLogTrigger() function. When a trigger event occurs, Signal Log collects data for a quantity of time that the user can specify. You can see the system status after the trigger event is complete. The data that is collected before and after the trigger event is saved to a .dat file on the controller file system. You can find this file in the /Automation1/SignalLog/ directory.
