Import Tools

  1. To open the Catalog Manager, select the Catalog tab. Then click the Catalog Manager button . The Catalog Manager dialog box comes into view.
  2. In the File section of the Catalog tab, click the Import button . Then select the type of file that you want to import.
  3. NOTE: For information about how the Importing dialog box organizes tools that it imports, click Figure: Importing Tools from a Project File and Figure: Importing Tools from a Catalog File.

    NOTE: If a version conflict occurs while you are importing tools, the Importing dialog box shows a drop-down list adjacent to each tool that contains a version conflict. Refer to Resolve Version Conflicts to correct this problem. Then continue with the To Import Tools into the Catalog Manager procedure.

  4. Optional. In the Importing Catalog Items section of the Importing dialog box, clear the selection for tools that you do not want to import.
  5. Optional. If you want to import tools into a different folder, do the procedure that follows.
    1. In the Catalog Items section of the Importing dialog box, select Choose New Destination Folder.
    2. You can use the drop-down list to select an existing folder from your Tool Catalog or you can type a new folder name.
    3. Click Apply. The Importing dialog box shows the new folder or existing folder to which it imports the tools.
  6. To import the selected tools into your tool catalog, click OK.
  7. Examine all the tools that you imported into the Catalogs pane of the Catalog Manager dialog box. Make sure that all the tools that were added and updated during the import are correct.
  8. Click Apply to save your changes to the Tool Catalog.
