Magnitude
In a frequency response plot, the magnitude is the ratio of the amplitude of the output signal to the amplitude of the input signal. The Frequency Response module shows the magnitude in units of decibels, with a large positive value that corresponds to a high-amplitude output and a large negative value that corresponds to a low-amplitude output. The controller calculates the magnitude by using the equation that follows:
Where:
Magnitude (dB) is the magnitude of the frequency response at one frequency in decibel units.
log10 is the base-10 logarithm.
Aout is the amplitude of the output signal at one frequency.
Ain is the amplitude of the input signal at one frequency.
