Administration Topic

Use the Administration topic to manage controller configurations and Machine Controller Definition (MCD) files, see and change license keys, and enable Access Control. This topic and its modules are in the Controller category of the Configure workspace in Automation1 Studio.

Configuration Module

Use the Configuration module to save your controller configuration to a Machine Controller Definition (MCD) file. You can also upload an existing MCD file and restore controller configurations to their default values. This module contains the buttons that follow:

• Download MCD: Download and save your controller configuration to a Machine Controller Definition file on your PC. You can specify the types of configuration data you want to download to the file.
• Upload MCD: Upload data to your controller from a Machine Controller Definition file on your PC. You can specify the types of configuration data you want to upload to the controller. This will overwrite the controller configuration that you are using.
• Restore Default Configuration: Specify which controller configurations will go back to their default values. The default values are not specific to your system.

Licensing Module

Use the Licensing module to see and change the license keys for the Automation1-MDK and Automation1-iSMC software. To see the license keys, click the Show Keys toggle in the upper right of the module.

Access Control Module

Use the Access Control module to enable Access Control so you can put a limit on the number of users that get access to the controller. For more information and instructions on how to configure this, see Access Control.
