MaxCurrentClamp Parameter

Default Value: 10.6

Minimum Value: 0.0

Maximum Value: 250.0

Units: amperes

Type: float

WARNING: Setting this parameter to an incorrect value can cause the motor to fail and might cause damage to the motor.

Use the MaxCurrentClamp parameter to define the maximum allowable current for the motor. You should set the value of this parameter to whichever is lower: the peak current rating of the amplifier or the peak current rating of the motor. You can obtain this information from the corresponding device data sheet.

If you try to exceed the quantity of current that is specified by this parameter, the drive clamps the current output to this value in order to prevent damage to the motor. No fault is generated in this situation, but the Current Clamp bit of the DriveStatus axis status item will be set to indicate this condition.
