Axis Dashboard Module

Optional Purchase Necessary: To use MachineApps, you must purchase the necessary licenses. For more information, refer to Automation1 MachineApps.

Add the Axis Dashboard module to your MachineApp so that users can see the axes that you configured to show in the application. You can configure if users can enable and disable, home, and jog axes. You can also configure the signals that show for each axis.

The Axis Dashboard module is a secondary module, so it can be added only to a secondary module region (top or bottom).

Use the MachineApps workspace in Automation1 Studio to:

  • Add the Axis Dashboard module to a MachineApp.
  • Configure the Axis Dashboard module.

Use the Axis Dashboard in Automation1 Studio to:

  • Configure the jog mode, speed, and distance settings for each axis.

Use the Manage Axes dialog in Automation1 Studio to:

  • Configure axes to show in the application.

Use the Automation1 MachineApps application to:

  • Enable and disable, home, and jog axes using the Axis Dashboard in a MachineApp

TO ADD THE AXIS DASHBOARD MODULE TO A MACHINEAPP

  1. Open Automation1 Studio and select the MachineApps workspace tab.
  2. Use the procedure on the MachineApps Workspace page to create or edit a MachineApp. The MachineApp must have an empty secondary (top or bottom) module region for the Axis Dashboard to be added.
  3. Select the Modules tab in the Design drawer. Click and drag Axis Dashboard into the top or bottom secondary region.

TO CONFIGURE THE AXIS DASHBOARD MODULE

  1. Open Automation1 Studio and select the MachineApps workspace tab.
  2. Use the procedure on the MachineApps Workspace page to create or edit a MachineApp.
  3. Click the Pencil icon to open the Edit Module Configuration dialog for the Axis Dashboard module. You can configure these settings:
    1. Use the Enable and disable axes toggle to set if users are permitted to enable and disable axes or not.
    2. Use the Home axes toggle to set if users are permitted to home axes or not.
    3. Use the Jog axes toggle to set if users are permitted to jog axes or not.
    4. Use the Data signal 1 drop-down to select the first axis data signal that is displayed.
    5. Use the Data signal 2 drop-down to select the second axis data signal that is displayed.
  4. Click OK after you configure the module to save your settings and close the dialog.
If Enable and disable axes is set to Off, the user will not be able to use the Axis Dashboard to disable an axis to stop motion. Toggle Show Abort Button in the MachineApp settings drawer to On so that the Abort button is available to stop motion.

To change which axes show in the Axis Dashboard, use Manage Axes. Refer to the Axes Category for more information.

You cannot configure the jog mode, speed, and distance settings in a MachineApp. You must configure the jog settings in the Axis Dashboard in Automation1 Studio. Refer to the Axis Dashboard section on the Automation1 Studio page to configure jog settings.

TO OPERATE AN Automation1 CONTROLLER with THE AXIS DASHBOARD IN A MachineApp

  1. Open Automation1 MachineApps and select an Automation1 controller.
  2. Select the MachineApp that you configured to include the Axis Dashboard module. The customized user interface comes into view.
  3. The Enable button shows the name of the axis and a toggle indicator. To enable an axis, click the Enable button. To disable an axis, click the Enable button again.
  4. To home an axis, enable the axis, and click the Home button.
