Message Log Viewer Module

Add the Message Log Viewer module to a MachineApp to view messages written to the Message Log. Alternatively, you can view the Message Log in the Programming module in a MachineApp by enabling the Show message log option in the Programming module’s custom configuration.

You must add the Message Log Viewer module to a Primary module region of a MachineApp.

Use the MachineApps workspace in Automation1 Studio to:

• Add the Message Log Viewer module to a MachineApp.

• Configure the Message Log Viewer module.

Use the Automation1 MachineApps application to:

• View Message Log messages in a MachineApp.

To Add the Message Log Viewer Module to a MachineApp

1. Open Automation1 Studio and select the MachineApps workspace tab.
2. Use the procedure on the MachineApps Workspace page to create or edit a MachineApp.
3. Select the Modules tab in the Design drawer. Click and drag Message Log Viewer into a Primary module region.

To Configure the Message Log Viewer Module

1. Open Automation1 Studio and select the MachineApps workspace tab.
2. Use the procedure on the MachineApps Workspace page to create or edit a MachineApp that includes the Message Log Viewer module.
3. Click the Pencil icon to open the Edit Module Configuration dialog for the Message Log Viewer module. You can configure these settings:

   1. Use the Should Automatically Scroll toggle to set if the module should automatically scroll to view new messages when they appear.

   2. Use the Show timestamps toggle to set if the timestamp should be shown for each message.

   3. Use the Show severity toggle to set if the message severity should be shown for each message.

   4. Use the Severity filter drop-down to select a predefined message filter based on message severity.

   5. Use the Message limit box to set the maximum number of messages to show in the module.

4. After you configure the module, click OK to save your settings and close the dialog.

To View Message Log Messages in the MachineApp

1. Open Automation1 MachineApps and select an Automation1 controller.

2. Select the MachineApp that you configured to include the Message Log Viewer module. The customized user interface comes into view.
